Data & Sources

What we accept, how we record it and why an estimate sometimes stays blank.

01

Preferred evidence

We prefer SEC filings, company reports, government datasets, official archives, court records, academic work, reputable newspapers and books with attributable reporting. A random blog does not outrank an available primary source.

02

Source ledger

Each factual record can store the publisher, title, author, publication date, access date, source class, exact claim supported and a direct URL. Images also carry creator, license, original URL and attribution requirements.

03

Launch datasets

The property illustration uses the FHFA All-Transactions House Price Index distributed by the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Corporate filings link to the SEC or issuer records where available. Historical market calculations are not published until a licensed, reproducible series is loaded.

04

Missing values

A dash never means zero. If a value cannot be reproduced from a trusted source, the page says why or omits the calculation.

Operational draft last reviewed September 2026. Final counsel and operating-entity details remain a launch gate.
